Webonz's Profile

I'm David, aka webonz, super cool dude in Raleigh, North Carolina, (27612) who plays the cool games.

Started playing games when I was four on August 16th, 1996, my brother Mitchell's 8th birthday, when he got Earthworm Jim Special Edition for Windows 95. Really got into Nintendo games in the early 2000s, enjoyed going on the Nintendo Nsider Forums, and got really competitive in Mario Kart DS when that released in 2005. In 2006 I waited in the cold outside WalMart in Fuquay Varina NC (just say zip code 27526 instead of trying to pronounce it) for the Wii; my first midnight launch. Got into playing Super Smash Bros Melee in that time period, too, maining Falco back then. In 2007, I started playing Quake 3 Arena a ton and in 2010 I got 2nd place in the Quake 3 tournament at Carolina Games Summit. I also was getting more into game collecting by this time, point-pressing in classic arcade games, and speedrunning across a few games. In 2011 I got all 64 world records verified for Mario Kart DS and founded a game-focused software company, Solanimus, which I still run to this day. Among other games, it was through Solanimus that I created the first real-time music-driven video game, Signal to Noise. On August 16th, 2021, marking 25 years of playing games, I got the world record speedrun for Earthworm Jim Special Edition in honor and memory of my brother Mitchell.

I used to have over 2000 games but my collection isn't nearly that big anymore. I still have hundreds of games, and I'm not a system specialist. My systems other than PC include: Atari 2600, NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Wii, Wii U, Nintendo Switch, Playstation 1, Playstation 2, Playstation 4, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance SP, Gameboy Micro, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, New Nintendo 3DS XL, Xbox, Commodore 64, ZX81, and others.
